Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Rebat. These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Rebat student app, the Rebat driver app and the website rebat.sa (together, the “Service”), provided by Rebat Althiqah Information Technology Company (“Rebat”, “we”, “us”).
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. The Arabic version of these Terms prevails in case of any inconsistency.
1. The Service
Rebat is a technology platform that organises subscription-based university transport for female university students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, connecting students with drivers who are registered with Rebat and meet the regulatory requirements. The Service is available in the cities, universities and gates shown in the app, and we may extend or change coverage from time to time.
Pickup and arrival times shown are estimates and may be affected by road conditions, traffic, weather and other factors outside our control.
2. Eligibility and your account
- The information you provide at registration and afterwards must be accurate, complete and up to date.
- Accounts are registered with a Saudi mobile number verified by a one-time code. You may not create more than one account of the same type or use someone else’s account.
- You are responsible for keeping verification codes confidential and for all activity on your account, and must tell us immediately about any unauthorised use.
- A student under 18 may use the Service only with her guardian’s consent.
3. Subscriptions, prices and payment
- The Service is offered to students through subscription plans (such as weekly and monthly plans) whose details, prices and duration are shown in the app before payment, including VAT where applicable.
- A subscription is activated once payment succeeds, and an electronic invoice is issued for every payment.
- Payments are processed by a licensed payment provider (Moyasar) and are also subject to the terms of that provider and your card issuer.
- We may change prices or plans; a change never applies to an existing paid subscription before it ends.
- Rebat does not accept cash or any payment outside the app for the Service, and is not responsible for amounts paid outside the app.
4. Cancellations and refunds
- You can cancel your subscription using the options and conditions shown in the app when you subscribe.
- Whether a refund is due, and how much, is determined by the cancellation policy shown in the app at the time of subscription and by the consumer protection laws in force in the Kingdom.
- If we cannot provide a paid service for reasons attributable to us, we will refund the amount due or offer a suitable alternative under the applicable policy.
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method; how long they take to appear depends on your card issuer.
- To cancel or change an individual trip you must respect the deadlines shown in the app; missing a trip without prior notice may not entitle you to any refund.
5. Student obligations
- Be at the agreed pickup point at the scheduled time.
- Treat the driver and other riders with respect, follow safety instructions and wear a seat belt.
- Do not bring unregistered companions on a trip or carry prohibited or dangerous items.
- Keep the vehicle clean and undamaged, and bear the cost of any deliberate damage.
- Use the emergency feature only in genuine emergencies.
6. Driver obligations
- Hold a valid national ID or iqama, a valid and appropriate driving licence, a valid vehicle registration and valid vehicle insurance, and update these documents in the app before they expire.
- Meet the requirements of the Transport General Authority and any other legal requirements for carrying passengers, and consent to trips being reported through the WASL platform.
- Obey traffic laws and safe-driving rules, and do not use a phone while driving except as the law allows.
- Keep the vehicle clean, safe, roadworthy and matching the registered details.
- Keep to the scheduled times and routes, and keep location sharing on for the whole of an active trip.
- Do not carry other passengers during Rebat trips, do not contact students outside the app for purposes unrelated to the trip, and respect their privacy by not keeping or sharing their data.
- Provide a correct IBAN in your own name for payouts. Earnings and commission are calculated and settled as shown in the driver app and in any separate agreement with Rebat.
- Bear the legal and tax obligations arising from your income unless the law provides otherwise.
Rebat may refuse to register a driver, or suspend a driver’s account, who does not meet these requirements or breaches these Terms.
7. Conduct
All users must not:
- Harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against anyone in any way.
- Provide false information or forged documents, or impersonate anyone.
- Commit fraud or manipulate payments, ratings or offers.
- Misuse the Service, attempt unauthorised access to our systems, or decompile or reverse-engineer the apps.
- Use the Service for any purpose that breaks the laws or public morals of the Kingdom.
8. Safety and emergencies
The Service offers safety tools such as live trip tracking, an emergency feature and alerts to trusted contacts. These tools support you but do not replace the emergency services; in an emergency, call the unified emergency number 911 immediately.
9. Ratings and content
Ratings, feedback and messages you send through the Service must be honest and appropriate. We may remove content that breaks these Terms, and use ratings to improve service quality and act against users who break the rules.
10. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Service, including the apps, the Rebat name and logo, designs and content, belong to Rebat or its licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps for the purposes of the Service only.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, temporarily or permanently, if you breach these Terms or the law, or where user safety or a competent authority requires it, and will tell you why where the law allows.
You can end your relationship with us at any time by requesting deletion of your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the “Delete account” page of our website, as described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion does not cancel financial obligations that arose before it.
12. Limitation of liability
We take reasonable care to provide a safe, stable Service, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law:
- Rebat is not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit.
- Rebat is not liable for delays or interruptions caused by road conditions, technical failures at third parties, or any cause beyond its reasonable control.
- A driver or user does not act as Rebat’s agent in personal conduct that breaches these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to compensate Rebat for claims or losses arising directly from your breach of these Terms or the law, or your infringement of anyone else’s rights.
14. Force majeure
Rebat is not in breach of its obligations where performance is prevented by force majeure or emergencies beyond its control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, government decisions or general telecommunication outages.
15. Privacy
The processing of your personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy published on our website, which forms part of these Terms.
16. Changes
We may change these Terms from time to time. We will publish the updated version on this page with its last-updated date and tell you about material changes in the app. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept them.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We aim to resolve any dispute amicably through our support team first; failing that, the competent courts and judicial bodies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have jurisdiction.
